Post by Dimitris »

Download: https://www.mediafire.com/file/eg2ij25r ... .4.7z/file

How to use: First, have in place a working install of CMO v1.05. Then, unzip this pack on top of the installation, overwriting the exe and other files when prompted.
Always backup your existing Command.exe, just in case.

Build 1307.4 Release Notes (changes from B1307.3)
=======================================================

* Various tweaks & improvements on Intermittent Emissions:
- Fixed an issue preventing non-active sensor types to perform detection and tracking
- Allowed permanent "silent" mode when setting emission value to 0
- "Wake upon detection" mode performs much better
- Fixed a display issue with negative value being shown after interval deadline
- Toggling to intermittent now use the proper interval initial value

* ADDED: Scenario/Save search ability in "Load Scenario" window: https://i.imgur.com/T73qCmC.gif
* Added: [Lua] Method GetKeyStore() to dump to a table all the items stored
* ADDED: [Mission Editor] Show show base name of targeted facility
* ADDED: [Lua] air/dock facilities on unit wrapper

* TWEAK: AAW missiles with turbojet propulsion are now considered constant-powered (e.g. AAW loitering munitions, "turbo-SAMs") and thus do not use the boost-coast model
* TWEAK: Use proportional navigation for autonomous-guided weapon intercepts
* TWEAK: "Add New Satellite" menu - country list sorted
* TWEAK: Auto-create holding area for UAV Class 1
* TWEAK: Launch Class 1 UAVs from ground units
* TWEAK: Allow UAV with launcher to fly from any open air facility
* TWEAK: Allow access to DB from ORBAT (mission and type tabs)

* POSSIBLE FIX: Significant UI slowdown when a friendly unit is selected <-- NEED CONFIRMATION - UNABLE TO REPRODUCE ON TEST
* POSSIBLE FIX: Game stalls after loading saved scenario <-- NEED CONFIRMATION - UNABLE TO REPRODUCE ON TEST
* FIXED: Vertical-boresight check was incorrectly calculating the altitude difference between observer & target
* FIXED: Operation planner would break if no side is defined.
* FIXED: Contacts being lost due to floating point math rounding
* FIXED: Exception thrown after setting TOT and clicking "Create flightplans"
* FIXED: Evaluation if the TakeOffLocation moved was never executed, that could lead to a wrong TOT when AC depart from a ship
* FIXED: Auto-generated flights for patrol missions do not get the flight planned assigned.
* FIXED: #14898: MDSP Flightplans Broken and Other Issues
* FIXED: [Lua] GetContacts were missing base contacts in some cases.
* FIXED: [Lua] ScenEdit_SetUnit was not registering last known position of unit, this could cause invisible unit's icon or drawn in invalid position until the next refresh.
* FIXED: area & ref point manager interaction with CEZ was no longer working as intended
* FIXED: Error when trying to spawn in Venezuelan Satellites VRSS-1/2
* FIXED: Interception/strike missions broken after war planner update?

* FIXED: Aircrafts on a strike mission refuse to launch at anything. They just circle the target
* FIXED: Strike planner bug, disapearing aircraft
* FIXED: Mouse-move order was no longer working for shift+mouse multi-waypoint course plotting.
* FIXED: Submarines reseting depth at each waypoint
* FIXED: Shift+RMB was a scen edit only feature (?)

" Scenario/Save search ability" seems not available for steam workshop scenarios ? I think which needs this ability more urgently.

Use proportional navigation for autonomous-guided weapon intercepts
That's a big effen deal.

Biggest thing to happen to air operations since boost-coast.

I'm a dummy, can you tell me what the proportional navigation piece of that means\refers too? (it's not clicking in my head) :?

Also - Thanks for the updates, fixes, and tweaks.

Lot of fixes. Thank you!

Looks fixed. I put the time in and tried loading numerous ways and was not able to reproduce it.

oh, I really like the new scenario search feature!

Very handy for searching for a scenario by year!

It's a method for the missile to lead the target and to fly toward a (for all intents and purposes) pre-calculated intercept point, rather than <what CMO had been doing all this time> constantly flying toward where the target is right now. The former gives the missile a shorter/straighter path and should improve the missiles chances against a target of comparable or faster speed.

It's time to give those perpetually buggy ABM/anti-sat engagements another try.

If only it was that simple.

So far, we have used a combination of intercept heading for mid-course guidance and pure pursuit for the terminal part, because proportional navigation can, if used in its "pure" form, be gamed by the target. (Remember "BVR snaking" in DCS? Think that works IRL?). To paraphrase Churchill, pure-pursuit was the worst guidance type - except for everything else in the terminal phase.

But recently we have tweaked the proportional guidance algorithm to a state where it should be robust enough to be used for the terminal part of missile guidance.

One of the first things that I noticed with this update (1307.4) was that when overwriting files, it was replacing existing newer files with older files. It all happened that fast, I could not stop it but did notice it was *.txt files with dates of around 11/2022 being replaced with files from 04/2022 if I recollect correctly.

It all happened that fast to notice anything else or stop it.

As someone experiencing the "lag when own units selected" bug, I'm afraid to say it's still there. :(
For now I just have to remember to pause the game when giving units orders, because then it operates smoothly. Then unselect all my units and run time.

If you had a proper full install up to date install of 1307.3, none of those .txt files actually changed btw in 1307.4.

@boogabooga @Dimitris - Thanks for both for the explanations of what that line item was referring too, appreciated. I know I've seen it head for an intercept of where the target is projected to be by the time it makes intercept prior to 1307.4 though, and not just go for where it was atm, that said more refinement in that regard the better I guess.

Same, sadly. Hard one for them since they can't replicate on their systems yet.

Hey artao5, could you post your basic system specs and a dxdiag report maybe in this thread..

We're trying to see if there is anything at least common to those with this issue to help the devs reproduce it on their end.

It was a completely new install from scratch of 1307.3 on the 18th February 2022 after a complete deinstallation.

Looks like its time to reinstall from scratch again to sort the gremlins out.

These were probably DB descriptions. Any newer copies will be pulled down when Command starts. The files in the update are the original base txt files; it doesn't know about the updates being stored externally.
