Using portion of master map

I am trying to cut out a piece of the master map vn_700101 DMZ, to make an A shau scn..

I have read the 8.22. 10 design tips, but am seriously challenged, I just cant get the gist of how to do this.

I would like coordinates 459,499 to 539,579 , that whole square cut out as the scn. map....I've tried the extent shift gismo
many times, cant figure but how to use it, I am not getting any of the map portion I'd like... :cry:

Do you do tut. for labeling?and for some reason, my compass will not show up... :|

The compass only shows up at certain zoom levels.

Since you made a new map, you'll have to reset its position.
