Building up Bathurst...more isolated Japanese troopers. Hornet and New Mexico keeping the IJN honest. Nothing but barges and small xaps and 2nd rate destroyers.

P40s flying from Katherine help a bit too. Popped some flying boats at Bathurst today....

Bathurst has funny ship routing, only accessible from the south.

Lost an oiler west of Tabby today....like I said these losses are expected since my ASW protection is so thin...but Japan is also loosing submarines (17 subs this month). Nothing can stand in the way of getting troops and material forward.

To think Japan expanded all the way to Noumea, Norfolk, Pago Pago and Diego Garcia and Invaded Perth, and Eastern Australia...to Bundaberg I think.

That seems nearly impossible to believe looking at this info.

It is possible that the Japanese got whiplash when the counterstrikes started!
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I have to give a thought on how to deploy these ships...a level four port can handle 7 plus a small escort. Port three can handle 3 while a port two can only handle 1.

My most forward port 4 is Hansa Bay, with Davao a Port 3.

Or do they stop at Shortlands, port 6, and ships already in the area ferry them further forward?

After the initial surge, our shipping now makes shorter, safer runs to be under local fighter protection.

Sansapor to Morotai; Morotai to Talaud; Talaud to Mindanao.

Japan has tried all sorts of things...low level, higher level, Emilys', but it has been that initial IJN SAG surge that did some damage. But not enough to stop me. ;)

Correction: Sansapor is the largest forward air base.

Japan is having a tough time in the air....I know they run their air force ragged...lots of LRCAP, lots of flying out of damaged runways...and it should get worse for Japan as I have the first Jugs sweep tomorrow. ;)

Jugs sweep for the first time...of course a squadron of beasts flew in before...but the two other squadrons flew against no opposition.

I am quite surprised he has not savaged your invasion forces more with his SAG groups. Especially since he must see that DS is set to short range attacks only (because your planes do not fly against the CAP trapped bait).

Just from what I saw in your screenshots in the past few weeks, there would have ben multiple opportunities for a night run-in against one of the 'freshly attacked' places. Is his NAV search lacking or what?

Is he low on major surface units?

Well, he did run in twice with good success: Davao Bay and between Morotai and Sansapor.

I am operating well inside my naval search radius so in general I have good intel about where his surface ships are although both his wins were where I knew the ships were there, just didn't think they would go that way or messed up my defensive orders.

I did not spot a lot of support ships for rearming...nor tankers in the area and that limits reprisals.

There have been a dozen or more clashes where USN forces beat back raiders before they got into the supply lines. I have not pictured them all...often times there is very little damage except for spending ammo.

Japan to my notes has lost 1 fleet CV, 2 BB, 8 CA, 16 CL and 45 DD.

Japan hasn't built up any of the bases that I can see...he lacks interconnected air bases, probably HQa for coordination, and subsequently I don't much fear his naval bombers.

Japan has lost lots of planes, and in thinking about it I must have caught Japan upgrading her carriers. I did give the KB an aerial bloody nose three months ago. I suspect my pilots are far superior to Japans.

As a JFB, my big enemy is the USN. They are so plentiful and good...but in this game the largest USN warship lost is the CL Boise and CLAA Atlanta....so far. Might lose something this turn...Minneapolis is making a dangerous run....?
