1307.2- Patrol Flightplans don't stay within the bounds of patrol area or prosecution zone

Post by BDukes »

Generated flight paths don't match up with the constraints of player-created patrol and prosecution zones. I've included before and after save files and the screenshot below. Run the before save and generate a flight plan. Notice it's generated outside the patrol zone and a little outside the prosecution zone.

Same behavior in 1307.6. Not a huge deal (I don't think!).

Ok - this just breaks almost every scenario around.

Looks like with new files, you can't generate a flight plan at all.

Still works with the old file though. Artifact?

Ok save file attached. If this was deactivated no issue. Didn't see a warning anywhere on that.

"FIXED: Auto-generated flights for patrol missions do not get the flight planned assigned."

Is this related? I thought I had seen something about it in 1307.4.

And now add just one enemy aircraft to your 'test'. Of course outside of the AA-weapon range and switch on the carriers radars.

Hmm. If I set it up correctly works fine.

There does seem to be something with the investigating contacts in weapons range and prosecution zones.

Is this what you're cryptically pointing out?

It does not work well at all. It is completely irrelevant whether the aircraft stay within the boundaries of the patrol if there is no enemy aircraft in the area. But it is easy to notice that e.g. an ASW-Helo tries to verify an underwater contact thousands of miles away although it should actually revive within the patrol zone and the contact is anyway very far out of its range. Therfore almost all scenarios are broken.

There is no ASW helo in the scenario but pretty sure that one in on their list though as is the uncertain contacts over land.

If this stuff is that important to you post some files like I do.
