Should I buy AB???

Hello all,

Im contemplating AB.

First question;

1. which dlc comes with the Campaign Generator??? becasue thats not optional in my book so Id have to get this....

2. Ive seen some rumbling of AB2 coming out 2023....thus Im not sure if to wait or look to buy AB 1 when it comes up on special....

3. I dont like the whole Steam model and would prefer to buy from Matrix and GOG - but if its just an interim purchase while waitng for AB2 cost wise id be better going with Steam.....

So any idea of when AB2 is coming out?? is it 2023??? is it going to be radically different to AB2??? Whats going to be new??

Be good to have drone warefare and EW added as well, maybe a more direct WEGO option that suits PBEM as well (ala CM style - so you can have wego or realtime)...is this on the books???

The base game has all features, and the nation packs add more content (even though only the Czechoslovakia-Netherlands DLC has a linear campaign).

AB1 sales income is used to fund the development of AB2, so it's still a good idea to buy the old game. At the moment it seems that a lot of AB1 content will be compatible with the sequel.

For us it's better when the game is bought on Matrix, because that way Steam doesn't take its share. The Steam key can be redeemed after purchasing the game on the Matrix store.

Probably late this year or early next year. It has the familiar AB feel in it, and the square based terrain, but parts of the system have been rebuilt up to 100% from scratch.

No drones for now because we will stick to the Cold War. I'm planning to add an improved replay feature, but I believe there won't be a sophisticated multiplayer option for the consumer market in the near future.
