Teekan Sub Surface Cavern Event

Post by Schatten »

If you get the Teekan Sub Surface Cavern Event, in the end you get 50 Mio Teekans from Hibernation Chambers.

Those Teekans are treat as own Spezies by the Game, you see than on Screen Teekan+others and if you look into the List you see 2x Teekan Spezies on the Planet with exactly same stats.

Actually even the original 1M are considered a different Species of Teekans.
It follows the Story Lines description - those are a millennia older generation of Teekans. But I am not sure if that extra species actually serves any purpose.

they do not, they absolutly same in Stats and everything. So basically they should melt into overall population, less statistics

Same Stats != no purpose.

It would be easy to imagine a event that references the Sleeper Population, rather then the normal one.
The only questions are:
- is that happening right now?
- will it happen anytime soon?

Yeah adding population using the event method always seems to make it a unique population, even if another population of the same race exists on the planet.

I think it's ok in this case though, we need them to be separate populations initially because the sleepers start off as unassimilated. And it doesn't do any harm to have them remain so once their assimilation values match.

Thanks for the report, we'll take a look.

Do you have a save that shows the event triggering? What version were you playing on?

It happened the last time I played Teekan. But it only becomes visible after the Passenger Ships moved a bit original population over.

Here is a savegame. Planet Itajeyll. I made the planet my Capitol, so you can find it under Hotkey 1.
You can clearly see the two seperate populations of Teekans on it.

At least it seems the second population wasn't exported during Colonisation

That should have been post Aurora, pre-DLC. And the Beta.

I am not sure myself, but i might have used them to report some issues.

90% chance it is this savegame:
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 6&t=393529

And it happens the Transports were just a few Tourist missions from moving Populations. Which should be what triggers the bug/second population entry.
