Editing tiles_misc files

Post by William the Silent »

I tried to edit the h_tiles_misc png file.
But when I put it in the Graphics Override file from my game and opened my game all hexes from they h-level were distorted.
What did I do wrong?
I edited it as a png file. I even tried to change something really little inside a picture, but it stil distorted the hexes of the h-level.

You have to do all three: h_tiles_misc; tiles_misc; and s_tiles_misc.

I just tried that, but now all levels are messed up.
It seems like the transparent color is wrong after I save the edited file.
Does it have to be png?

You put all three into the Graphics Override folder?

Yes. From the game it is intended for.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that the files come from the Telumod. I just want to change a little thing. I have done it before with the original files and then it worked.
Somehow after saving the edited file the transparent color seems to mess up.
I don't get it.

I saved the files as bmp files and now it works.
??
I find out new things about TOAW every day ;)

Maybe one day I can dump my "Napoleons invasion of Russia" on this website.
PO is tough though.

Mind if I ask what you used to color all the "open" tiles? I started working on it in paint 3D but wasn't prepared to stay within the lines - there's 41 tiles on each tiles_misc (x3)
If you're STILL making Panzer IIs after seeing your first T-34... you're probably going to lose.

Use Recolor or Magic Wand features of Paint.Net to color the open hexes.
