In the east around Leningrad we actually managed some kind of operational surprise. I had 4 mech units behind the frontline and it seems like the German intelligence did not realise they were there. A breakthrough is achieved.

And the Soviet buildup on the eastern front. The Soviets now have 26 mech/arm corps with which I hope to spank some sense into the Axis .

Believe me, I did feel spanked! And that concentration of mech/Tanks is an awesome sight on the map!

Thwy do look nice when in good shape. But you defended well and thrashed quite a lot of them they dont look too nice at our point in the game .

Haha . Not sure if it was worth it but you can have only so many units in France. I had to do something else. I also wanted to land in Southern France but I ran a bit low on landing ships.

In France the Allied HQ finally get the bum off the ground and start to advance.

In Greece Axis reinforcements arrive making progress very difficult. My only hope is that with the Soviets approaching from the north I am not sure how long the defenders can stay here.

In Greece there is now way too much opposition to do much. But again these units are not in France or on the east front.

In the Baltic stats Red army make a small breakthrough but the spearhead is surrounded by fresh strong German units so I would say it was pretty stupid to advance and if I recall it ended pretty badly .

On the central front Minsk falls. Soviet economy and manpower improving.

And in France my spearheads were counterattacked and no progress is made. And look at the state of my airforce and we are just halfway through the summer. Look at the state of the ground units as well for that matter .

Situation deteriorates in Denmark. Trying to start evacuation.

In Sardinai Cagliari surrounded but it will be a fierce fight trying to defeat the Germans dug in in the city.

And as expected because of the Red Army approaching from the north many defenders abandon Greece.

Riga falls and the advance continues into East Prussia and approaching Warsaw. American fleet locked in Baltic takes refuge in Riga. Not sure if that is as intended? That US/UK can use USSR ports? In this situation Soviet HHQ develops a sinister plan can you spot it?

In the south I manage to get a bridgehead across the Vistula but it was quickly wiped out the next turn. My mech units now starting to show wear and tear after a pretty decent advance during the summer.

August 25 1944

Well Paris is not falling on its historical date sadly enough. Its a funny looking situation. Whats not so fun is the strength of my spearhead units. Feels a bit like Operation Market Garden luckily i am not facing at least for the moment any SS armour only equally weak Italian units.

Not sure if it was a masterfully planned defense or luck but my armour is one op short of taking out hungary . That one OP might be very important in the total outcome we will see.

In East prussia my trap springs shut but my flanking force is not very strong and there is supply from Konigsberg and never underestimate the Germans. I felt very happy here I thought maybe it was a game winning move but yeah things did not turn out as briliantly as I hoped .

In Poland/East Prussia my pocket is easily broken and now my units are standing in pretty awkward positions.
North of Warsaw another breakout and Soviet units advance southwest. But again breakthrough on a narrow front and some strong German units nearby. When will I learn? Annoying I did not have enough op to close the pocket on the Warsaw units.

SEP 22 1944

Campaign season comes to an end with some excitement.

In France the German HHQ decides not to fight the breakthrough but orders a retreat. Finally some progress crowned by the Canadian Goose Mech Corps reaching the Swiss border.

I had seen that the defenses of the Netherlands had been weakened and in the spirit of Operation Overwhelm the allies land and take Amsterdam. Also some paratroppers land and advance into Germany.

The UK really miss Danish ham and butter and having been kicked out once decides that that wont do and return to the beaches of Denmark.

And in Greece advance continues into Albania. The Red army wants Sofia so much but bad weather hampers effort.

SEP 22 1944

In East Prussia/Poland the Soviet HHQ are complacent and did not realize the risk to the most advanced units. Lots of counterattacks lead to 1 mech corps surrender and 5 mech and 1 inf corps shattered. Stalin not going to take any responsibilty of course so there will be some extra rounds of shipments into the GULAG. Well done by the German HQ.

As expected my spearheads in southern Poland were cut off but some counterattacks opened the supply line again at least for now.

Oct 20 1944

I will only post the most important stuff since not that much happening during bad weather.

Here is the eastern front as you can see 4 units cut off. In bad weather I desperately try to save them but in the end only one unit will get home. The black circles are the shattered units coming back as well as a newly built one.

In the balkans Sofia still holding on but the allies have cleared out Albania and advance along the Yugoslavian coast.
