IJN surface ships seem to sally forth from Cam Ranh Bay looking for a 8 ship merchant fleet to the south...while our fleets go hither and thither. Our minesweeper at Cam Ranh Bay blunders into 2 mines, while a destroyer hits another.

Our bombardment task force, low on ammo from the warships, tangles with the IJN...the DMS that hit a mine gets hit again, and sinks later in the day...

Japan then heavily sweeps Quinhon...but our carriers are at Sea...they run into land based air until it eventually is exhausted.

Looking good. Are you worried about his troop levels at Cam Ranh and Tourane or elsewhere in Indochina? Can you show us a screenie of your ground forces in Quinhon?

Cheers,

Sure, when I get the turn and not just the replay.

13k troops at Cam Ranh Bay, 11 units around 100 guns...from memory.

I think Japan is in tough, tough position. I have bypassed so many troops, and too much are in China and Burma, Darwin, and islands in the SRA.

Yes, well played on making a good chunk of his army irrelevant. The deep move stuff is reminiscent of Nemo.

I was looking up modern names to see where I've been, and it turns out Quinhon = Quy Nhon and Tourane = Danang. There's a nice beach town called Nha Trang between Cam Ranh and Quinhon, which didn't make the cut as a base. Nha Trang is where Capt Willard received his orders to "terminate with extreme prejudice" Col. Kurtz's command.

Cheers,

Sweeps came last over a CAP trap in Burma, and I lost quite a few British Divebombers...but pools are healthy with over 170 and have troops in the hex they bombed, so probably didn't lose as many pilots...pushing our transports hard right now too.

Attacking Japanese runways hither and thither in an attempt to get engineers working, damage the runways, and destroy supplies.

Ramree Island is now a size 3 port! :)

The LRPs are wiped out and the 4th Infantry Division will continue on the trains to arrive in Phnom Penh in 2 days and then 2 days to unload -- unless another paradrop can slow them.

D-Day at Quinhon was on the 24th, and Japan has suffered some decent ship losses....probably one more Light Cruiser, and the Atago isn't sunk....

Five destroyers for five destroyers plus 4 light cruisers and other ships make that a nice victory for you.

Of course, now you have to resupply your lodgement . . .
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o
