Capture?

What do you need to have the Fleet option to capture a base or ship?
The only options I ever see are...
prepare & attack
attack
blockade
move
set point

You need at least assault-pods and enter-troops do to this (and maybe even some other additional components - not sure about this), because it's not only a gamplay-function, but also an important part of the simulation DW2 tries to be. ;)

So you need troops. The fleet must include troop transports. That's what I am missing.

All you need are Assault Pods. Any ship can use them. You don't need troop transports or troops.

Well, no - not explicitly "troops" (they are for invasions or garrison, I think (I'm no expert in this - others may know better; - I only can tell you what I've read in other posts already or what I know out of the files :roll: - and I haven't tested it myself, so far)), but you'd need special components for your ships that include enter-commandos, like marines.
Here an example from the ResearchProjectDefinitions.xml (= tech-tree):
<Name>Shipboard Marines</Name>
<ResearchProjectId>81</ResearchProjectId>
<ComponentId>344</ComponentId> (= Star Marine Barracks)
;)

EDIT: Oh, Ive just seen that those marines are used for defense only :? - but the next tech in this branch ("Assault Marines") are more what I meant. ;)

Do any standard ship templates include Assault Pods? I have researched Assault Pods. How can you use them?

I tried to capture stuff with transports in tow... Disaster.
