Morale Effect on Liberation?

Post by archmache »

Is there a morale effect on liberating a country?

As allies I liberated Norway and Denmark, will that effect morale of units?

Additionally, Copenhagen is marked as a NM zone but I didn't get a pop up message for capturing it as United States. My opponent, JJonesRambo, did the Decision Event if I recall to annex Denmark so I don't know if that matters.

Is there a list that shows if the NM is for the Axis or for the Allies (a lot of islands are marked as NM or in the Philippines there are certain NM cities but I don't ever know which ones bump US morale or knock Japan morale).

When a country is liberated, the liberating side receive a unit morale bonus of 10-20%, while the other side's units suffer a similar penalty.

If Copenhagen is in Allied hands then Germany loses 30 NM points per turn, you can see this and similar locations of importance in this manner in the Strategy Guide, under the title The Importance of Food Supplies to Germany.

There is no full list of NM objectives in the Strategy Guide, but the details of them all can be found by opening up the National Morale script file for the campaign via the Editor.

To do this, open up the campaign in the Editor and go to Campaign -> Edit Event Scripts and then click on National Morale.

Good questions. I have no clue.

1) Denmark --- no idea if it helps Germany whether invaded vs bribed for 100 MMPs in terms of unit morale.
2) Allied liberation, of Denmark, same answer (no idea on unit morale)
3) Your sneaky Allied invasion immediately after Pearl Harbor, was nice touch. (empty Truk, Iwo Jima, & whatever that other island). I believe, that helps a little bit.

Then again, there's National Morale and there's Unit Morale. I get confused.
