MTH transport costs seems to be overboard

Post by Emx77 »

I'm planning naval invasion of island populated with minor farmers. However, to my big surprise MTH is asking for enormous sum of money.

I have 2K credits in my budget but, as you may see from screenshot, MTH is asking 22.5K credits for mere 500 logistical points for 3 rounds.

And this is MTH info screen.

Is this working as intended? It looks like that these prices are totaly overboard. I cannot aford even laughable contract of 3 rounds, not to mention anything above that. What can I do to go beyond my starting island in this situation. It seems impossible.

Do you have a Savegame?
Might be better to post that as a likely bug in the Tech Support Forum.

I think this is working as designed.

1. Relations with the MTH are low already.
2. Their attitude towards you is "Abuse" which means they will try to extract every credit.
3. Their tonnage available is 1500, while they have 5952 total contracted. Basically they are way over-contracted as it is.

Take a look at the price analytics section.

Due to the above points 1 and 2, you have a +150% relationship modifier to the price (positive being increased price) and due to point 3 you have a +900% price modifier.

So you are getting at least a 10x inflated price.

This sort of thing can happen. Somehow (and this is the point I never quite understand) other regimes are able to pay (presumably) tons of credits and use up all of the MTHs available tonnage, effectively shutting you out of the market. I also note that the MTH has already sold shares to other regimes, so good luck influencing them through shares. I don't understand how other regimes can afford to buy shares and transport contracts at such rates so early, but that is what is causing this inaccessibility to happen.

Sounds like the ability to buy at such extreme rates is the bug then.

I have played fate card "Change of Heart" on MTH for +25 relationship increase. This is result:

Price analytics is more favorable. Price for transport constract (3 rounds 500 LP) went down to 7.2K which is still quite high. I think Xxzard is right, the mechanics is working as designed but ability of other regimes to buy shares and transport contracts at such rates so early is questionnable.

I will post link to Tech forum and ask Vic to check what is going on.
