‘Moving’ and ‘Supplies’ doubt.

Post by voroshilov17 »

Hello everyone!
I have a doubt about ‘movement and supplies’ that I don’t find on the manual.

Move:
Okay so, when you move a unit, that unit consumes MP and is considered “moved” (obviously). That means that this unit is considered “moved” so in the next turn, it will not benefit from 50% increase of supplies received because it has moved. Okay, this is clear.

In this case, how much supplies does that unit consume for moving in each hex? Is there a way of knowing it?

Attack:
What about if you have one unit that you don’t move but you issue an attack with it. It will consume its MP… but that unit is going to be considered as “moved”?

Again, how much supplies does that unit consumes for an attack? Is there a way of knowing or guessing it? I imagine it will depend on the “loss tolerance” of the unit.. but how much exactly or more or less?

Dig-in:
Again. If you have a unit and you issue it to “dig in”, that issue costs all of the unit’s MP, but that unit will be considered as “moved”?

Again, in this case, does “digging-in” costs supplies? It costs MP points…

Thank you a lot in advance!

There are various settings and conditions that may affect supply delivery. You can monitor this by watching how much units receive each turn, under various conditions and in different scenarios.

Agreed, remember, battle rounds as well, as set by your loss tolerance.

How much a unit uses in supply for moving should be something you can more or less determine by checking the units supply before and after you move one hex. I can't recall if its 1 percent per hex or per movement point used by default but be aware that it is a setting that scenario designers can and often do change. In some scenarios movement is going to cost you more then in others - so it might make sense to test it out on a scenario by scenario basis.

Pretty certain that if you launch an attack you moved even if you did not. I think what is happening behind the scenes is essentially units have a 'I did nothing flag' which they lose if they do something.

Launching an attack usually consumes 10 percentage of supply (so 40 goes to 30) per round of combat. Setting a unit on minimize losses usually, but not always, means it stops the combat early - though it is perfectly possible that a weak defender never does enough damage to stop a minimize losses attack and the combat goes the whole 10 rounds.

Pretty sure digging in is moving but less sure if it also costs extra supply. Worth checking during your game (look at the units supply before and after you dug in).
