The Italian commander has lost his nerve, and orders his remaining submarine force to avoid combat. The SUBs in the Central Atlantic goes deep so the rolls there is cancelled, and in CSV there is not even a unit initiating a search. Bah.

The Japanese commander agrees that it is pointless, but decides to order a search in Antipodes anyway. No Allied defences there so attempting to find the convoy is a must.
