I am interested in understanding how all that works.
To be more specific, I am interested in how the Italian Surrender is being handled/processed.
To be even more specific, I am interested in Italian planes/production/AGs after Surrender.
To be even even more more specific specific, I am interested in Fiat G.55 planes (pre and post Surrender ....and mroe Italian planes/AGs post Surrender but I only made it to G.55 planes before encountering major understanding issues).
That Quote and the following chart is what the Manual states. There are no Erratas attached to this Quote/Campaign chart in the Living Manual 1.22. That's how it looks in the Editor, nothing mentioned of re-spawning units/AGs after a few turns (like it's been done in "Surrender in N.Africa" Errata and Event Texts). Following you can see a Bf 109 being produced for Italy after the Surrender Date. But if Italy doesn't exist why are planes being produced for it? Other planes like the SM.85 receive a "(GE)" variant which can be used after the surrender (as historically being produced in northern italy). Here I initially tried figuring out how the G.55 Production i being handled, numbers do not match nor does the post-surrender Production which states numbers of 140-270 being produced after Surrender (I did not yet dig too deep, help appreciated). Note that the AG on the left is a "Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana, ANR" Fighter AG of which historically at least 2 existed. Those are in the Game Data but Delayed by 250 turns, therefore will never arrive with their assigned 40 Planes (or I am missing something!). And who is going to fly all that "Italian" Bf 109's?Living Manual 1.22, p.231f wrote: 14.3. SURRENDER OF AXIS-ALLIED NATIONS
All the Axis-Allied nations may surrender as either the Western Allies or the Soviets make gains. Different rules and conditions apply in each case. Most of this progress will be determined by the various events set within the game.
When an Axis-Allied country surrenders, any airbase will have its nationality changed to German if the hex remains under Axis control.
14.3.1. Italy
Italy will usually surrender at some stage in the Autumn of 1943 depending on the progress of the Western Allies. Since most remaining Italian units will be withdrawn from Russia in late Spring 1943 it is unlikely this will have a direct impact on game play.
The Axis player can delay Italian surrender by committing extra units to the Italy or North African Theatre Boxes.
I may be missing something. Need help.
