[FIXED] 2 more bugs with Ford Showcase

Post by BobTank63 »

Playing through Ford Showcase after the latest update, and I found 2 more bugs

1. The MIG-23 and A-29 strike missions are set to "Mission triggers when contact is minimum: unknown". This causes them to launch immediately when the ground attack mission is set to active, even if the player hasn't gone hostile. This means the planes launch and do attack runs continuously on the embassy without actually striking it. This would be a small issue normally, but the MIG-23s tend to use too much fuel during their attack runs and don't have enough to make it back home. This leads to quite a few of them crashing, raising the escalation meter of Angola. This can be fixed by setting the Angolan ground strike mission to "Mission triggers when contact is minimum: hostile", so they only launch once the player's units are marked hostile.

2. The "KUG - active radar/OECM" event triggers as planned, but the Lua Script that actually sets the Russian SAG to EMCON active doesn't function. The event triggers without doing anything. I'm not sure how to fix this one since my LUA knowledge is limited.

Attached is save in a google drive showing both issues. MIG-23s are RTB without enough fuel and the Russian KUG is detected but not EMCON active. This can also be recreated by opening the base scenario and 1) letting the clock run to the time the Angolan ground attack mission is set to active and 2) classifying the Russian SAG with a Global Hawk.

Just want to say this is a great scenario btw. I love the escalation dynamics and the set-up

Edit: Btw, Detailed Gun Fire-Control in the realism settings is turned off. Is this intended?

Fixed the first issue. Updated scenario will be included in a future update.

The second issue appears to be a bug. SetEMCON appears to be broken.

Thank you for the quick action, Kushan.

Did you figure out if Detailed Gun Fire-Control being off was intended?

It defaults to off for new scenarios. It doesn't really matter for modern scenarios.

Ah, I was just wondering if that would effect CIWS or the guns on Pantsirs in Angola.

Is the second issue still a problem, or has it been fixed/resolved in the meantime ?
