The industry building that has an atmosphere refiner will have an affect on the atmosphere, as does the combustion engine.

What about wind, and water pollutants from war events, and possibly non empires related caused events?

Earth has a population of billions and it takes us decades to change the climate.
Populations in SE are a few orders of magnitude to small to do anything within game time.

A one time injection from a nuclear war or volcano would only have effect for like 1 decade. Then the particulate has settled and will at best become a entry in the geological record.

Also a small reminder about scale:
Each Hex is 200km short diagonal.
Each turn is 2 earth months.
Earth is 70% water.

So something that is a major event on earth, is barely a blip on the map in SE.

Curiously, would you be willing to bet your life on that claim? It would depend on the severity of either of those two disasters, no? Also folks such as 'experts' in the field claimed that we did not affect the climate.

I understand the replies however, in terms of the scope of the scenarios we get.

Ash and soot is not infinitely airborne. When it drops, there goes the climate impact of a volcano or nuclear war.

And if you are trying to pull a bad faith argument like "climate change isn't real", you are not exactly getting anyone taking any of your posts seriously.

Terraforming would be neat, but probably not within the scope of this game.
