Returning player questions

Post by CrackingShow »

Hiya

So I haven't played this game in a couple of years. I come back and the UK can't build tanks? And the USSR has 30% experience on her units? Is it possible to win as the allies with these rules?

I didn't start playing the game prior to the reduction of Soviet experience to 30% but since then there have been a number of changes to help the Soviets. The Siberian reinforcements are winterized. Soviet tanks and mechanized have their operational points increased to 7 beginning April 42. In the next patch there will be historical weather on the eastern front, Arctic Zone. It will be blizzard from January to March 42 inclusive.
In regards to the UK they can build tanks but can't start building them until March 40. I might be off on the start date so someone can correct me if I am wrong.
Did I miss anything?

Hello,

Welcome back. UK cant build arm/mech before March 40. USSR units will have 40% in the next patch coming up any day now I hope. And yes the allies can win :)

The Allies were pouring too many units into France which stalled the game too much for the Germans and caused too many casualties.

Realistically the UK didn't have a lot of tank production till later. I discovered this in my research to address this issue.

France is just a modifier to the pace of the game. it shouldn't be a game decider against another human player. The best games go to 1945.

It is more thrilling to play a game to the last turn than to crush the Germans in 1940. It is also very frustrating for the Germans. The UK still can do a Big BEF strategy but it won't have the crippling effect it did as before. The extra armor crippled German advances.

There are also limitations on UK deployment. If they reduce forces in North Africa, same for the French, the Italians can come in early.
