The Izumo is undergoing upgrades to become a CVL, with the USMC currently operating F-35B Lightning II (not for deployment) on the Izumo, the JASDF should deliver F-35B's by about 2024 (six), the JASDFD will operate the F-35's on Izumo and Kaga.
