I am not really sold on the gameplay of SPWW2. It feels a bit, I dunno, attritional? Predictable? Not all that challenging?

I don't find it either predictable or attritional anymore than SPWAW:

I have been visiting this site for over 20 years and it would be strange to not see the SP sequel/Combat Leader/Steel Tiger threads recur every couple of years. Over and over, and over :)

Along with the usual lamentations of SP's demise ...

Really?

What has changed since this? :?:

We are genuinely sorry that development has stalled on Steel Tigers. As was said it was put on hold, and we have no yet restarted active development on it. We will keep you informed of progress when it restarts. It is definitely something we have a lot of enthusiasm for, but it does need us to have the right team in place to execute it.

Cheers

Unfortunately still on hold for now, but we are discussing possibilities on how to restart it. I'll let you all know if that progresses to the point where development resumes.

i would be happy with an official update that lets the original version work on win 11, i think something like a dosbox to riun it virtualy prob possible these days, because to be honest the field of glory engine i dont think would suit, an the original was perfect as is. i would pay as much as a full game release for an update.

allow mega campaines , and the community would all play the multiplayer agaiin, the work has already been done, just give us a way to play

You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

thanks I have the shrapnel games and can bump up the res to 6000x1080 but I like SPWaW better, I like the UI and the penetration is in millieMetres in srapnel it just says penetration 1 to 6 something like that, and i like all the scenarios, I suppose I learned SPWaW first years ago before shrapnel and I loved the Mega Campainges, but to be honest not tries a camppaing in SPWW2 so i should. the graphics in shrapnels are good but the screen has just been ripped out from UI . dont get me wrong i love SPWW2 and SPMBT but I want SPWaW too! I just do I dont know exactly why I love it, it was the first game i bought from matrix and spent a long time playing it, so I just want to get that feeling back

o many scenarios were made for it the 999 limed was stopping more to be included, so i made this replacement launcher that swaps many 999 scenarios with main one allowing 19000 total scenarios. the limit stopped people collecting more

It's why people should stop asking about ST.

IF they ever pick it up again, they'll certainly announce it to the highest mountain top.

Until then, it's vaporware.

Shrapnel has just released two new patches for SP MBT and SP WW2, the only versions of SP that has been in constant development since 1998 and the only version of the SP games that has been patched upgraded and works with Windows 10 and 11 using full HD monitor support.
