This mod changes the background of the game UI popups and information screens to make them look somewhat weathered and battle damaged. **Now updated - more screens added!

*The Soviet UI looks best along with with Wiedrock's "Rasputitsa for Your Eyes" mod found here (as pictured above): https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 0&t=389994

This effect looks more or less subtle depending on if you are playing during the day or at night. Just put the contents of this zip file in your Dat/Art/Gui folder after backing up the original files.

I only do not like the helmets in the initiative screen. Perhaps Balkenkreuz and Red Army star could be better.

OK I'll make one like that for an option - it's only 2 of the files. Thanks for the feedback!

Here are some options for the two InitiativeBack files if you don't care for the helmets. If you don't like any of these, you could simply leave out the files SovietInitiativeBack and AxisInitiativeBack and use the stock file (but it won't be distressed).

Place these files (whichever look you choose) in your GUI folder and it will overwrite the helmets file pictured in my first post.
