Keeping CasIon in stock

Post by kenright »

Heyo so I have something like 80+ CasIon mines, and hundreds upon hundreds of thousands stored across my empire, but my primary shipyards consistently have 0 CasIon available.

It seems the merchant fleet is just fully unwilling to ensure shipyards have enough fuel in port. Is there any way to fix this? Set up idk, manual cargo runs from fuel mines?

Maybe a mod to reduce fuel usage or something? Because as it stands I sent a fleet to refuel and repair and retrofit and it's been several years and they just don't get enough fuel to do anything.

I'm fine with sending fleets elsewhere, but it's annoying that not a single ship gets to leave my shipyards with any fuel in the tank.

If you post your save, we can look and see what you could do to fix it.

It turns out the answers was a) more casion mines and b) researching the more advanced reactors since the auto-design shoved quantum reactors on every civilian ship. Still running low, but it's less awful.

The main issue I see in every game I have observed is that people have way too many spaceports and too many mines who are too far away for no good reason. This wil strain the fuel logistics considerably and will result in exactly the kind of issues you are having.

You need to build mines more carefully and especially you don't need a spaceport at every colony, in fact it can be quite detrimental for you in the long run. The lab you get on the spaceport will not be that important later on in any game. The lab also is questionable worth when you consider the maintenance cost of mid to late game space ports, you better save that money for rushing projects or just other things.
