Doctrine > General > Refuel

Post by gcommie »

As a noob to CMO I'm working my way through the manual and note that no description is given for the general doctrine refuel option: Refuel to tanker threshold: 60% (default and only available value in Doctrine & ROE for side).

Though it doesn't appear to be a setting that can be altered, no explanation as to what it relates to is given. Does anyone know this setting relates to game play?

I think it means that when your aircraft reach 60% fuel, they will start automatically looking for tankers. In my humble experience, 60% is way too high.

If you can't change the setting, it's because the scenario designer locked it (I have no idea why scenario designers lock this). You can edit the scenario, change the setting (I usually go down all the way to 30%), and then save it.

Thanks for the feedback maverick3320, it does indeed appear to relate to when an aircraft will head over to a tanker.

The scenario I am currently playing with is just one of the tutorials, so 60% not an issue, but using the editor I see there are options between 30-80% with 10% increments. Would make sense for a realistic scenario to use a lower limit otherwise I can image an aircraft/flight could end up endlessly keep tracking back to a tanker to get topped up.

Thanks again.
