Way of Japan

Hi there

I am rather new to world at war but know the game mechanics pretty well. Without having played many many multiplayer games in this version I wonder what the most usual ways for Japan are!?

Go for Hawaii and throw back the USA to gain time? Take their bases in the pacific and make life hard all the long way back to Japan?

Or do you expand to the Islands towards Australia? Maybe even into Australia?

Or do you go for Southeast-Asia and maybe go for India?

Just a few thoughts... what have you tried. Some expert players here that may share their thoughts and experience?
My current game is past the point to benefit from that information anyway

The pacific in world at war is a bit boring, the main point is enter in war with russia once china is surrender and of course India if japan is strong enough.

just think that PH for USA in world at war can be well defended.. the pacific is made in this game for USA to get. as it was

well... depends on what happens before that

my opponent managed to sink almost every US ship. I think the whole map has 5 US ships left. 7 or 8 battleships gone, at least three carriers, some heavy cruisers, destroyers, light cruisers, one submarine,...

will be hard to reach these islands without any protection.

But yes, maybe forcing China to surrender is the main key. Was just curious if there are many other ways that have been tried before.

japan is the key in WatW

i have several games against the superAI where japan conquer the caribe, another desembark in portugal to get Britain, another st south america and some at New york, and some japan get greece and desembark at Caucasus japan is the fun of this game, many posibilitys, but you have to get surrender china. to get the MPPs

I am a newbie multiplayer, but it seems that it is not necessary to take all of China. You may in fact loose precious time in your attempt to finish the job. Those units could be used elsewhere, in my very humble opinion. If you can take Burma and conquer most of the country, China will not be able to do much and you should put your attention, MPPs and units elsewhere, me thinks.

Personally, I am paranoid about a first strike by the USA directly on Japan, sneaking around the map. If I had one word of advice: get long range 3. It changes your life. As well as logistics 3. You will be shuttling units from Vladivostok to Rangoun, you need the flexibility!

The problem with going for Russia from what I see is, once you take Vladivostok, it's a LONG march to the next town to hurt Russia. So be prepared to invest in mobility - which I have not done- and even then, we are talking 10-15 hexes to get to the first factory/ressource to gobble up. So I think it might be best to focus on India, Australia, etc....

But I am still very much learning this game.
