A/C Replenishment - 1943 Campaign

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

A/C Replenishment - 1943 Campaign

Post by Johntxic »

I'm in December 1943, and some of my USAAF maintainers seem to have gone on strike... or are they hitting the fleshpots of Molesworth?

The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind.

Are no planes being added to the ready list? Any of those groups overstacked on an airfield? That will slow things down.
Do you have more pilots than ready planes?

How is the replacement pool? Not that it matters here, but production of the B-17F ended in October, You should be upgrading these to the new B-17G (remember we took away auto-upgrades a few versions back...)

The max time to get a damaged aircraft will be about 10 days, time dependent on damage. Looking into this.

The F Pool has 630 a/c, and the 303rd are the only occupants of RAF Molesworth.

Re your second paragraph - the system converted all my Mustang 1s/1As to Typhoons. Will my Typhoon squadrons be forcibly converted to Tempests later in the year?

No, because I believe we changed the tempests to be the same type as they typhoons and the system only forces the change if the 2 types are different.

I found a couple of minor bugs with pilot replacements, one of which will cause this and other odd things to happen as groups take on replacement pilots. This one was my fault from an earlier patch. The other bug causes the historical, at-start pilots to be overwritten as the pilot limit reaches 50,000 which is a legacy bug. Both of these are fixed now and will be in an upcoming patch. I also added a feature where a player can now see what the current pilot reserve pool is for each nationality on his side.

Thanks, Simo: I thought the residents of Molesworth had been up to no good - they are exonerated...

I found a 3rd (legacy) bug, and the primary cause of this particular problem. It turns out that several groups including 303rd and 95th have quite a few historical pilots with delayed entry well into 1944. The pilot replacement routine was including these delayed pilots when figuring current replacements needs, so these groups were being bypassed for replacements.
