I have an enclosed backyard where the kitties are free to roam outdoors, and when the back door is opened to them (they would say when the prison wards who only feed us wet food four times a day and dry food twice a day, open the prison gates at 0500 and close them at 2145) Patty Cake (inmate # 3), is always the first to scramble outside for exercise in the yard (compound), followed by Melody (inmate # 4), who in turn is usually followed by her twin sister Harmony (inmate # 5). The old felines Millie (inmate # 1) and Squeak (inmate # 2) usually make there rounds outdoors an hour or so later.

I live in an apartment building on the second floor. I will not let the cats outside, Sweet Pea will go into the hallway now for a few feet but if she hears someone, she comes running back. If I close the door when she is in the hallway, she is waiting for me to open the door. They have dry food to eat, get rather frequent treats, but only Sweet Pea wants moist food so I have to put in on the chest freezer so Danny Boy will not bury it.

I told someone who works in the mental health field that I used to sleep with two females every night. He looked envious. Then I said "One cat down there," and I pointed to the left of my left foot, "and one cat up here" as I pointed to my right shoulder. He then looked a little sheepish. I wonder why . . .

Sorry but this is how my mind works when I read your first sentence...

Well, I was trying to nap and I had to quit. So I looked up today's birthdays and I saw that it was the anniversary of Tommy Roe's birth. So I went to youtube and played this song for a certain female cat that was laying with me.

She perked up, listened to the music and singing, then Sweet Pea's head jerked when he sang "Oh, Sweet Pea . . . "

Good morning folks!

We own our own small house in the city (not downtown but fairly close) of Toledo. I had a white vinyl fence installed in our back yard for privacy and a by-product of that was that the cats in the spring, summer and fall can go out side and enjoy the weather and also have a fairly open place to play and lounge around on the patio.

It does bring us joy to see them enjoying the weather and yard and playing around together.
