Screenshots get Overwritten

Post by Tartannosaur »

I usually have multiple games going on at once. Game A is 200 turns in and has taken me a couple of months. Game B is a fresh start on a planet type I wanted to try. Game C is a multiplayer game I have going on.

I am trying to compile all of my games using the screenshot option so I can create timelapses of all my games. The problem is when you juggle multiple games at once the screenshots for those turns get overwritten, ruining your timelapse.

The solution would be to save screenshots to their own game folder (Shadow Empire/screenshots/game01, game02, etc...).

Does no one else have this problem? I realize the individual games are supposed to have unique numbers, but I'll attach a screenshot that shows I currently have three games going that are all numbered "174" for some reason. And they are all overwriting each other.

I have this problem too, different games overwrite screenshots on each others files, I usually do a manual sorting of files, putting different screenshots in different folders so I will have an access later on. Would be nice if game did put image files in different folder by itself.

I was not aware of this, so thanks for pointing this out.
The few screen shots I take, per any game, are always placed in other folders; so I have been fortunate to not have had this happen.

You're welcome. I'm currently trying to figure out what the map number "174" actually represents. I thought it might be the hex size of the map, but that isn't the case. I started another new game and that one is numbered "178" for some reason.
