Those terrible tanks - no way of getting rid either.

Post by Cavalry Corp »

If only units in good supply and refit and near a 4 Hub and so on can get rid of its oldest rubbish tanks and get some better ones there are tons in the pool. And in refit get also get trucks.

It s a big negative for me that units swap out only "when a magic potion script says so". I think we need a kind of optional tick box rule ( like in WITP AE= PDU) to allow me to give this unit trucks from the pool and give them the tanks I choose. This game is so difficult as axis at least let us fail by our own decisions - In Sept 43 LAH has its best crews in Pz1... come on :)

+1
Why not including CV/experience/morale/elite as a counterweight into the process of distribution ? LAH and the like certainly could pull strings back then.

The Panzer Is are in the recon tank TOE slot. They will, at most, be replaced by Panzer IIs. Panzer II production is pretty small, so the units try to make use of the older stocks until they run out.

Yep.

Assign the unit a Tiger Battalion. You'll feel better.

Sorry dont agree - we should be able to swap out - its a big negative. Going to check the game again as these units are now on refit. We can with planes after all.

They will add "tiers" of Panzer Divisions in the OOB 2.0, but read on yourself. Maybe this will fix some of this issues people encounter.
There is also stuff like Tiger I's not being replaced by Tiger II's, not sure if they will add more "Ground Element"-Types and chain them together to make this work ....we will see.

And Air is a completely different world from all the ground stuff. It's like having a musics school and a sports school in the same building, both are schools but have fundamental different subjects.
Well ok,...occasionally athletes dance to music, and musicians dance to music too.

Ok thanks for the link - I hope that will be an official update - if so sounds really good...

I put a post about Tiger 1 not upgrading in the campaign PBEM a while back. I had all but one Heavy Battalion on Tiger 1 - in December 44! I had nearly 200 Tiger 2 in the Pool. I had no idea why only one unit upgraded ( but just because I have Tiger 1 left because I have been prudent with losses should not mean I am stuck with them, my boys deserve the best). I am playing a new game to see if it was me - we will see.

As regards this issue - Are light and recon tanks committed the same way to combat with other tanks? I assume and hope not but its a interesting comment above.

I already have more tiers of Panzers in my game now in Oct 42 - we will see if the OOB draws down the tanks it says in the new OOB. That would be good and I guess very acceptable. Maybe the same needs to happen with these Tiger units - they are critical - as well as sexy :)
