Designing a WHOLE Navy WOW

Post by Akmatov »

Very interested in Rule the Wave and about to buy it. But just had a thought. Planning and designing and playing Battleships seem manageable. But EVERYTHING!!! Cruisers, Armour Cruisers, Light Cruisers, Heavy Cruisers, AA Cruisers, Destroyers in six varieties, Supply Ships?, Oilers?, Amphibs? Neptune Save Us that would be a career, not a game. So how do ppl deal with this?

I'm certainly not the most experienced when it comes to RTW but in absence of a better answer I will try to answer your question. First off, luckily we don't have to deal with supply ships, oilers, or amphibious operations at all or just very little in the case of amphibious operations at least. As for how to deal with managing everything, you could set the fleet size to one of the smaller sizes when you first start out so you can learn the basics of the game without having the headache of dealing with dozens and dozens of ships. You could also go with a larger or more medium fleet size and but choose a smaller nation with no or few over seas commitments like Italy to help keep things more centralized and manageable. After you learn he basics of the game I think you'll have a much easier time with management on the larger level, since you'll have a good enough understanding of the game that things won't be so overwhelming. On the battle side of things, they can be quite large and chaotic but the game can be played in a turn based mode so that they aren't overwhelming or very difficult. Finally, I would recommend watching RVT wargames analysis on YouTube as he has done a recent mini tutorial series for RTW 3 and he has done many tutorial videos for RTW 2 that will likely be largely applicable to RTW 3. Whatever you end up doing I hope you have fun with this game, I know once yu get into the swing of it you'll really enjoy it!
