I'm still getting the same error message today but now for two games. Both are mods. One has been ongoing and the other is awaiting my first turn. I upgraded to v.1.26 before this happened.

You'll have to download and apply v1.26.01 from your 'My Page' and File 'Downloads' from the download section for the game.

Let me know if you still have any issues after that.

What now?
Just to confirm, this for a Matrix install version of the game?

If so can you confirm that the following folder is located in your install folder?

\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Pbem\DAT\v1.25.00

And that the 1939 Storm over Europe.dat file is located there?

Can you confirm that you've downloaded and installed the latest patch, v1.26.01?

Had this also in previous patches. For me it worked renaming the existing folder e.g v1.24.00 to the missing one 1.25.00
Then skip the replay. I think the files stores the replay of the previous turn.

Yes, I have v1.25.00 and 1939 Storm over Europe.dat file there, but v1.26.00 + the dat file as well. It's all there.

Hi, for those with the missing 1939 Storm over Europe.dat file issue, please try the following:

Download this file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/e7ut096vgbh8u ... e.dat?dl=0

Then place it in the following hidden folder:

\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\PBEM++\DAT\v1.25.00

Replace <username> with your username on your PC, and 'AppData' may be hidden, if you type the folder name in, that should get you there.

Hope this helps,
Hubert

P.S. I tracked down this issue to the intial release of the v1.25.00 patch last year that had these files missing for some reason.

The latest patch corrects this, but games started with those files missing will have this issue unfortunately, and the only fix is this awkward one I just posted above, again unfortunately.

It's a hidden file.
Google 'How to view hidden files in windows xx"
where xx = your version of windows.
