Change of color themes possible?

Good day. I have enjoyed this sim for a couple of years. My vision however has crashed in recent months rendering me "legally blind". I refuse to walk away though, but find my eyesight impossible to see many in game buttons with dark font on dark background or light font on light background. I am wondering if there is a way to personalize colors to allow me to get a few more months of my favorite pastime.

I cannot understand though why there would not be a way to make the text fonts darker... or why anyone would have created buttons with white text on a white background...so I think that perhaps my question was misunderstood. I was not referring to the game colours as far as symbols etc, but to text colours inside of buttons.
I am *almost* certain that I actually messed them up myself as even my son with perfect vision can barely see the writing of white font on white buttons and dark font on dark buttons.

Regarding the terrain legend, this is how it looks like here. Edit, sorry thewood1 was faster.

I think is is related with your windows personalization, are you using a high contrast theme?




The menu buttons are easy to mod, you can invert the color. Just an example:

So you do have dark font! I thought it used to be. I need to find out how to get it back then...many buttons I had memorized so don't need to read, but I can't read ANY of mine...every dark button has the same colour dark font and every light button has the same light font.

I can actually read yours.
Any idea how to get it back ?

Yes, the cause you see the terrain is the high contrast theme.

I modded the button with paint.net, a free graphic software.

The 13 buttons of the menu in the same size of your screenshot, color inverted with dark text. Hope they are useful.

They are located in this folder:

"\Command Modern Operations\Symbols\Menu"


Backup the complete vanilla folder first.

Then extract the zip file in the same game folder and overwrite the 13 menu buttons.

15 bar buttons, color inverted.

The inversion of the red (record, flames) does not look good to me, tell me what you think, and if you prefer them to be red with a light background.

These files are located in:

"\Command Modern Operations\Symbols\Bar"


Backup the complete vanilla folder.

Extract the zip file in the same folder and overwrite the 15 buttons.
