[RESOLVED] Tacview Not Working

Post by gcommie »

Through Steam I've installed CMO v1.05 Build 1307.18 and Tacview v1.9.2, and though Tacview is properly defined in game settings, i.e. C:\Program Filess(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tacview\Tacview64.exe, when launching the 3D View it doesn't display anything. A windows appears, labelled 3D View, but all it shows is a graphical menu bar giving options such as loading and saving files, charts (1-4), media (1-8), debug etc. which I assume are the Tacview defaults. Are the quoted versions compatible as I had these applications working previously with earlier versions on another PC?

Does reverting to an older version of Tacview resolve the issue ?

Dimitris, had a look at Steam to see if I could install an earlier version of Tacview but I couldn't find a way of doing this. Looks like Steam only install the latest available version.

Thanks for the URL, Dimitris. Have been able to get Tacview v1.8.8 to work, but the archive versions only install in a demo mode so are of limited use. Looks like Tacview and/or Matrix Games have screwed something up between v1.9.2 and v1.05.1307.18. Presume I'll have to take the issue up with both of these companies, but both (of these money grabbing companies) have so far been pretty shit at responding to emails.

Hi guys! Just in case somebody noticed the same issue:

First, make sure you graphic drivers are up to date.

In Tacview 1.9.0 I have improved the way I am initializing the OpenGL renderer to better match official OpenGL guidelines for Windows. It is possible that never updated or out of date Intel drivers simply fails to properly support OpenGL.

If you still have the problem after that, then please share your logs as explained on the wiki page https://tacview.fandom.com/wiki/Help_ME_help_YOU!
