Not a bug 1.21d Dashboard discrepancy

Edit: This is actually caused by a research pact providing a 6% bonus so this is not a bug.

The % progress differs between the dashboard and the council report. I have not noticed an issue with the other councils but I'm not sure I actually checked the military council from the top of my head.

Nice that you found out is not a bug but... but there's still an improvement possible.

One may understand that 19 point are calculated from 147 / 35.56 = 4 points. then you have a +29 for research bonus (it seems like 20% of 147) = 33 + 50% = 49.5 + 49% = 73.7 but it's not the correct calculation.

Instead... 147 + 20% research bonus = 176.4 (so +29 "research points" are indeed BP) / 35.56 = 4.96 + 50% = 7.44 + 49% = 11.08 a lot more close to 19 than previous calculation.
edit: or equivalently 147 + 20% = 174.4 + 50% = 264.6 + 49% = 394,25 / 35.56 = 11.08

Maybe the 35.56BP for each 1% progress is now referring to current progress, so it's valid when you are at 25% but at 6% (25 - 19) it was lower, giving you more points...

So at least changing the "bonus research points" to "bonus BP" would clarify a bit the calculation.

I think that it is the correct calculation I found when I investigated binary technologies.

Maybe the 35.56BP for each 1% progress is now referring to current progress, so it's valid when you are at 25% but at 6% (25 - 19) it was lower, giving you more points...

The initial cost is 20 BP for 1% for all linear techs. Interestingly enough 394/20 ~ 19, rounded down.

With that said, I think I remember Vic mentioning that there is some randomness involved in linear tech calculations.

yep, it matches, then. I forgot you have a +6% from research agreement so 25 - 19 (from your BP) - 6 (from research agreement) = 0 and the 1% progress "cost" applies.
