If I ever want to increase replies on my AAR, to worry my opponent, all I have to do is post the wrong year.

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
I remember when someone posted a picture of a tree on his AAR and received 6 pages of posts, that was 30 (not the 20 now) posts per page. It did take awhile for his opponent to do a turn and he was thinking that there was some large attack being discussed.Lowpe wrote: Sat Jun 17, 2023 12:36 am If I ever want to increase replies on my AAR, to worry my opponent, all I have to do is post the wrong year.

That was CR...kind of sad to think of the old days prior to migration and bans and now alternative forums.

Just plugging forward. Ready to unleash some Corsairs, Jugs, Lightnings, and Hellcats on Saigon. Thinking about dropping more forces now at Quinhon. Just pushing forward, always forward.

Do you have additional Allied A/T guns at Chungking or have the Chinese units gained that much in anti-armor?

Nope...the best guns left are machine guns of which I think there are 19 left.BBfanboy wrote: Sun Jun 18, 2023 3:20 am Do you have additional Allied A/T guns at Chungking or have the Chinese units gained that much in anti-armor?
All the new spawning troops have 43 infantry though.
Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Up to 7 armor units in VIetnam now, I believe...will be using Pakse as a huge air transport base to get troops up to Vinh. In two days we will have three armored units racing up that way...
Looking at Vientiane as our next paradrop, once I get another para unit fully reorganized.
bombardment at Saigon:
Ground combat at Saigon (60,71)
Allied Bombardment attack
Attacking force 336 troops, 34 guns, 28 vehicles, Assault Value = 1119
Defending force 25748 troops, 169 guns, 146 vehicles, Assault Value = 510
Assaulting units:
4th Marine Division
766th Tank Battalion
27th Infantry Division
754th Tank Battalion
32nd Infantry Division
1st Australian Division
134th Field Artillery Battalion
145th Field Artillery Battalion
Defending units:
Cape St.Jaques Fortress
4th Division
1st Militia Regiment
Southern Army
11th Air Flotilla
25th Air Defense AA Regiment
12th Base Force

Impact of the Burma Road....also stopped flying supplies into Tsuyung...freeing up transports for other duties.
Kunming now has a DL of 9/10 so we will have to transfer our transports out of there.

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
When will the breakout occur?
Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Interesting how your selected TF makes a curving path to Soc Trang. Looks like he has a wall of subs east of that path, trying to isolate Saigon from resupply/reinforcement.

Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Only a scant handful of subs operating outside of the South China Sea for Japan now. Don't tell anyone, but that concentration of force has really allowed the Allies to accelerate troop movement.BBfanboy wrote: Sun Jun 18, 2023 12:25 pm Interesting how your selected TF makes a curving path to Soc Trang. Re: Spanking Lowpe (NJP72 vs Lowpe (A))
Just two weeks ago (August 15th) and the Japanese position was a lot stronger...the Allies simply can move so fast. August 9th was when the Allies started taking Malaya bases....

Zepplins were rigid, they have a frame. The US Navy utilized nonrigid (limp) but sturdy bags in WWII for antisubmarine patrol.Lowpe wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2023 5:18 pmI got Zeppelins there!BBfanboy wrote: Sun Jun 18, 2023 12:49 pmAllright! The three U.S. based Goodyear blimps hold over 200K cubic feet of helium. The total weight of the airship rings in at 12,840 lbs (5824 kg). However, when fully inflated with helium, the total apparent weight of the ship is typically regulated at just 100-200 pounds. If you want to look completely macho and you have connections with the higher ups at Goodyear, perhaps lying underneath one of the Goodyear blimps when inflated and bench pressing it might be in order.

Respectfully, I wouldn't want 6 ton of mass pinning me to the earth, or pulling me away from it after I benched it.
Otherwise, long time lurker finally caught up on this thread. Thank you, Lowpe, for the masterclass on spanking.

September already. My goodness, where did 1943 go?
We are using different tactics to degrade the Japanese ASW in the area around Singers.
This area is flooded with Allied submarines....waiting for the IJN breakout...and you can see the effectiveness of IJN Air search and ASW operations...almost non existant.
