I really like the idea of making most decisions a real choice. Even if its only extra costs (although I think most can be made better than just adding costs). I believe that would at some uncertainty and replay-ability to the game.

I am not so certain on the AK, I could go either way. I do think the British can easily blockade the ports, but it requires a lot of commitment.

I think there are 2 issues:

a) Decisions being meaningfull (i.e. presenting 2 valid choices) or not (i.e. one choice being obviously advantageous at all cases). For example, DE629 Annex Lithuania presents an interesting dilemma to the axis player, with both choices having pros & cons. DE636 Africa Corps seems to me meaningless, and I suspect it has a 100% "YES" rate (so, not much of a decision).

b) Area of appearance of D.A.K. (Italy or Africa). I personally prefer Italy, so that it does not "teleport".

However, I think the gameplay would benefit if there were negative consequences for Germany in case D.A.K. was not sent to Africa:
- Reduce Italian Morale for every turn that there are not at least 3/5 German units at N. Africa (similar to UK having to maintain 5 units at France in '39/'40, othewise the FR morale drops.)
- DE702 (Italian Expeditionary force to Russia) only fires IF the Germans have 3/5 units at N. Africa (if Germans did not sent aid to mediterannean, Italians do not send aid to the eastern front).
- Turkey and Spain moves towards allies. (No Ge investement in mediterannean)

My preference being that players should not be "forced" to do sth (i.e. DAK units teleported to Africa) but to have a choice which could go both ways.
I really like the idea of making most decisions a real choice.
exactly
Let me add to Jackmck comment, in general sense: Is it time to go over all the DEs?
Many DEs should be improved, but can the game/developers do that at this stage, years after releasing the game?

Again I think the argument against teleporting and having naval blockades is moot when you have one game that does the event teleporting (WIE) and one game that doesn't (WAW). And other events that do (Such as Norway).

I don't think you can argue against teleporting unless both games are the same and all events are the same. Otherwise what is the point? Either you have teleporting events with no naval intervention or you have no teleporting events with possible naval intervention. But not both. This just leads to chaotic arguments. Just my two cents.

I think we can all support meaningful choice decision events for sure. No arguments there.

Several events with teleporting. The BEF in France itself is teleporting (no need to pay the cost of transportation isnt it?).

If the issue is that the Brits have no means to block the move, again, you could have a parameter that it happens on the first turn the tripoly port is on 5 strength.

Blocading Tripoli also, is not so viable - place can be a grave for UK ships with some axis air in Sicily. But of course, there are several games that the Brits, are indeed in a position to dominate west Med. In that case, the DAK is in deep problems, so much that an Axis player will probably choose to place it in Europe.

SittingDuck, great post. The one event that really bugs me is the Yugo coup. Rewind and run again (from a sufficiently removed date), and there's absolutely no guarantee that it would happen again. Same with the Iraqi one. Players will plan for these events and take advantage of them when they occur. [One abortive brainstorm I had was to give the more unstable countries a 1% chance of large (say 50%) swings in alignment, but I had to ditch that idea because a typical game has almost 100 turns-more in WIE of course-meaning the majority would go off by game's end.] The ones we have can certainly be given more variable outcomes.

Rommel needs infantery, thats the point..the infantery conquer Egypt, you better play well the 3 Italians infanterys plus one DAK corps (i usualy send a second from yugoeslavia)

The panzer do nothing just finish the infantery not start at first

Forget rocket weapons research. I really need to learn to invest some MPPs into this exotic 'teleportation' technology I keep reading about. Beam me over there, Scotty.

Love rockets, but correct, only 3 maximum (was 2 before).
The experience growth, takes forever.
I've easily lost 10+ games going for them.
3 rockets + tech = Lose
Believe weather negatives some damage too.
