pz501 wrote: Thu Jul 27, 2023 3:32 pm I realize that I'm not a forum regular and that I don't post much, but I wonder if it's possible for someone in the know to answer these questions, or at least give estimates? Erik first proposed this on 4 Dec 2021, and despite some finding of problems with scenarios and map data, not much more has been discussed or revealed.

1. Is this idea still being actively worked on? If so, by one person or a team like the original WiTP-AE?

2. If it is active, is there a rough estimate for when a completed update (or official beta) will be available?

3. If this is a team effort, who is the team leader?

4. Erik's original post mentions adapting graphics settings for use with 4K displays. Is this still being looked at?

Any information will be appreciated and I'm not criticizing, just curious.
1. Yes, a new beta is in the works. There are 5 of us.
2. We are waiting on matrix.
3. Joe Wilkerson
4. I beleive so.

Stay turned....GP

It would be nice to know if the new Beta and map would be compatible with the latest release and map so I could start doing the initial turn . . .

I think that representation "publish" is incorrect Tanaka (if you mean what I think here). There will be a patch file with notes no doubt that will bring the game from the last beta version to a final, normal version. It should allow us to install from disk and apply this last patch directly to have the final version of WITP:AE.
But no re-release or any fancy discs or the like.

I've just had an idea. Maybe he could get the tech company to do something really useful, write an AI for the game :D
This is the big question I have been wondering with all of this AI talk lately. Will this change the AI in the gaming industry? Will the AI ever go from scripts to an actual playing entity that makes choices and decisions? I am very curious if this will be possible and if this will ever happen?

Yes it will happen one day.

ChatCPT and various paid for AI image creators are creating amazing things with the guidance of humans.

Here is some artwork I created using the AI's, none of these are real photos images or artwork.

Sigh on the dotted line where Beta 2 was being finished up in January. It takes 8 months to release after completion so far...think of all of the testing we could have been doing in that time...SIGHHHHHHH
