Soviet Doctrinal Templates

Post by blackcloud6 »

When I was in the army in the 1980s and all the way up to when I was a CGSC instructor (before ILE), the army published Soviet doctrinal templates. They came out in thing paper and were drawn at 1:50000 scale so you could lay them under acetate and draw the template on a map overlay. Oh, how I now wish I kept mine. Sigh.

Are these available on the web anywhere? or does anyone know where I could get a copy of the paper ones?

I do have pdf files of the FM 100-2 series (and I wish I kept the hard copies of those too...)

Fred, I have hard copies of FM 100-2-1 and FM 100-2-3, and I will see if we have links to other items you are looking for. I would suggest doing a search on this forum and the Red Storm forum, as many docs have been posted over the years. I'll also look at our Discord and see if I find anything there.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Well if it means anything :) I do have electronic copies. blackcloud6, when were you there at CGSC? I worked at the DLDC FA57 with Dr James Sterrett for two years before going to MCTP and ran real exercise, like "Warfighter".

You have electronic copies of the doctrinal templates? Can you share?

I taught the reserve Command and general Staff Officers course from 2000-2005. But I was assigned to CAC Threats in 1992-3 and then left active duty, one of the casualties of the great slaughter of Year Groups 81 & 82.

I have PDFs of FM 100-2-1, 100-2-2, 1002-3. I'll search the forums for the templates.

We can start with this first. Its what was use during my time with MCTP. Most of the graphics I make is by my XP-PEN tablet. However due to the size of the file I will have to send it by email. So please shoot me an email and I will send it.
