Return to carrier bug

Post by davidc »

A2A combat for ground support
Japan sends fleet air into China
Round 1
Axis roll 14 for AA - doesn't matter where to abort to
Allies roll 15 for DA
MWIF says the only available carrier is CV Shokaku which is not true and is not the carrier that the front fighter came from.
Seems like it is only allowing carriers with no air units to be aborted to.

Also, how do you add an image
I'm using Lightshot
I save to their cloud and use the [img] add but it doesn't seem to work

The 7pt Zero is still on the carrier Akagi
It might be a save game issue as we pass the file back and forth for combat decisions.
Will try with an earlier version of the file and see what happens.

Not need to save to the cloud. Just drop & drag the image into your post.

And then "Place inline" where you wish.

Example, after this line.

I got the same result as you did and I definitely see why.

In addition to the 7pt Zero on the Akagi showing in two places (combat hex & Akagi flight deck) so does the 6pt Zero on the Zukakau. The only way I know to possibly workaround this is to go back to an auto save at the beginning of ground support and recreate your ground support allocations & rolls. If this works great, if not post that auto-save (i.e., at the beginning of ground support) and we'll have a look.

If the Undo function is used when selecting and placing air units, this kind of thing seems more likely to occur.

Was that the case here?

It was a save game bug.
Went through the whole thing without saving and it went fine.

Thanks for the replies and advice.
