Ghost Squadrons

Post by afspret »

I'm in scenerio 17 and playing against the A/I and was wondering if anyone else has encountered this situation:
I had two B-26B units on stand down after taking a beating and noticed each had split into sub-units with B-25Js. One sub-unit had 2 a/c with 3 pilots and the other had 1 a/c with 2 pilots. I tried repeatedly moving the sub-units to a rear area base but they kept showing back up, on their own, at the same base as the main units, so I eventually merged the two sub units and left it in training. A few turns later I saw the sub-unit was up to 12 a/c but had no pilots. I checked the original B-26 units they spilt off from and found one had a total of 29 a/c and 33 pilots assigned will the other had 25 a/c with 28 pilots (the other two B-26 units at the same base had 16 a/c and 20 or so pilots each). Now, a couple of turns later I found the sub-unit had 1 pilot assigned, but was down to 7 a/c. I've completed a couple of games already and this is the first time I've noticed this.

That sounds crazy. What was the original squadron?
