Battle GUI

Rule the Waves III is a simulation of naval ship design and construction, fleet management and naval warfare from 1890 to 1970. and will place you in the role of 'Grand Admiral' of a navy from the time when steam and iron dominated warship design up to the missile age.

Battle GUI

Post by EwaldvonKleist »

I love this game, the design is amazing. However, the battle management GUI often frustrates me due to unnecessary clicks, lack of keyboard shortcuts for repetitive tasks, some questionable choices (e.g. shift for setting division course is next to the <> key that moves the game turns forward, so you often accidentally do this) and lacking quality of life features.

Does anyone else feel that way? If so please let me now.

@NWS: I have a number of ideas, ranging from very simple and easy ideas to modest changes, to make the battle management more pleasant. If you are in general interested/have some resources for this, let me know, and I will make a more detailed post.

Imho, a smooth GUI is one of the most important features of the game, and while it is pretty good for most aspects in the game, the battle GUI is lacking in several ways.
Best regards
