1904 Imperial Sunrise Naval Mod.

Post by Hellfirejet »

Hi folks,
After playing the new 1904 Imperial Sunrise Campaign for a lot of hours after its release, don't get me wrong the Campaign is excellent in many ways, and I thank Ryan for creating it. As a player who likes all things naval, I found that as per all other games in the Strategic Command series ships are just too easy to sink, so I have taken steps to rectify this issue, I have also slightly tweaked the land warfare again so that land units have a better chance of surviving to fight another day. As a bonus, the 1904 Imperial Sunrise Naval Mod comes complete with all-new Nato counters enjoy! :D

Ryan you have created a great Campaign and I have really enjoyed playing it, playing as Russia is the easier option all you really need to do is slow down Japan's advance, by using your land forces as a defensive shield, keeping your Corps, etc entrenched and reinforced. It is all down to Japan to try and break through. As for the mod I tweaked some things here and there to assist the naval aspect mainly, and Mike ( OldCrowBalthazor ) asked me to make the Nato counters for him, which I was happy to do. :)

Great idea on the mod, and so I have downloaded the mod files. I seem to have done something wrong though, because the campaign for 1904 no longer shows as a choice in the list of campaigns at start. The .cgn file, and the mod folder containing the various subfolders such as bitmaps were pasted by me into the same steam subfolder where the original 1904 campaign and folders appear. I then removed the originals, and re-named the new stuff to match the names of the originals. This doesn't work, so clearly I have missed a step. Help please.

Hi, I don't know about the Steam install. But for the PC version via Matrix, the 2 folders should be installed here:

Place the mod in this folder: C:\Users\[USER NAME]\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command - American Civil War\Campaigns

Hi Jim

You may want to uninstall and reinstall your game in order to reobtain the original files.

Mods go in a separate place, as per Kirk's reply above, therefore no mod will interfere with an official campaign, it is simply in addition to it.

Thanks Kirk. My folders don't quite line up with this, but I will try re-installing the whole kit and kaboodle as Bill suggested.

Hi Bill

Thanks, I will do this then.

EDIT: Can I assume that you mean re-install direct from Steam? Or do I need to download my original purchase from the Matrix site?

You can reinstall it from steam if it is in your steam library.
