I just ordered WitP: AE since it was on sale. I've tried the SeeBee app, but I get an error: "Unable to find PW data!!!"

The other possibility is that the downloaded game is not installing the correct shortcut icon on your desktop. As put out by Matrix, the original game puts an icon on your desktop that points to a Menu screen (the autorun.exe pointer). This is not the game - you need to create one that points to War In The Pacific Admiral Edition.exe .

The old Google site was discontinued, apparently the authors have to do something for the new site.

A larger problem is that the mandatory update you have to do to launch SeaBee does not work with the demise of the download site, so SeaBee is unusable. I hope we can get ahold of the creator to assist.

When downloading new software I try to get it in its compressed form (i.e. zipped instead of having it extract and self install automatically. Then I copy the zipped file to another device/cloud/offline storage so if I need it again and the original download site is not active, I can get it. I did that with WITP-AE's original game file.

Unfortunately that does not help us here, as the SeaBee requires a mandatory update check before it will launch. The update site is down, so SeaBee won't launch as it cannot continue past the mandatory update to nowhere. I have been unsuccessful getting ahold of Korvar.

True but SeaBee does make it a lot easier which is why I usually suggested it.

Unfortunately, the writer of SeaBee has not been here for a couple of years, does anybody know what happened? Maybe someone could contact him and he could correct the situation or possibly give up the rights to the utility to someone else or possible even Matrix?

I wrote it today new from scratch and just tried to recreate the look of SeaBee.

Update 09 July 2023:
I added some switches and edited the decriptions according to the great new manual.
I think the new switches will only work with the newest beta from last year.


It is really simple to use. You just have to download the ZIP file, unpack the EXE and start it.

Based and thanks to the solution by Jochen here is what I found out and what you can do to make SeaBee work without a problem.

Seabee saves in the file bin\data.sb when it looked the last time for updates and if you accepted the EULA.

Idea:We create this file every time we start SeaBee.

Solution: Just create a text file in the program directory where the SeaBee.exe is and name go.cmd (for example).
Open this file with notepad and paste the following code in there.
Start this every time you want to use SeaBee and it just works fine.

Great news everyone! I made contact with Korvar and this is what he said verbatim:

Thank you for letting me know that SeaBee was no longer functioning. As I am no longer active on the forums, I wasn't aware that there was a problem... or that WitPAE players were still using it, for that matter!

I have updated SeaBee to version 0.2a and have removed the update requirement. It should now function normally, even if Google should break the site again.

Please download the new version on its new Google Sites page ( https://sites.google.com/site/witpaeseabee/home ). I recommend keeping a copy of the zip file, just in case... Unfortunately, it appears Google is also requiring the creation of a Google account in order to access their new site system. For that reason, here is a direct link to the Google Drive folder ( https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... GhYy1_53D8 ) which contains the zip file. You shouldn't need to sign up or log in to access it. Please let me know if you should have any problems downloading it.

I did, and I extended a request to work with him directly on an additional update to SeaBee to include additional switches I've found, plus an option to click the exact game version someone is using taking into account everything we have as of current. I will work with him via email to see if he's willing to do this. He's a very nice gentleman!
