It's now T137 round 2 and I finally captured Astrakhan just now. Lots of severe rain with many T-storms. This is the second day of the mud season of winter '42. I need to start thinking about setting up some defensive positions for the Soviet offensive that's coming in some future turn.

It's now T138 round 1 and this is the third turn of the mud season and the logistics chain collapsed. Supply bubbles that used to have good numbers are now empty or single digits. I'm withdrawing all the troops to better supply areas even if I have to give up terrain I've already captured. It's been raining cats and dogs for the last several consequtive turns including this one. That accounts for all the mud everywhere. This is a view of Russia out in the middle of nowhere.

It's now T139 round 2 and this is the fourth turn of the mud season and the logistics chain still hasn't recovered. This is what it looks like west of Astrakhan right now. The repaired rail goes through the city and extends 4 hexes to the SW. So the supply level will rise a bit next turn. I'm pretty sure that I won't have to convert all the hexes in the marshy terrain.

It's now T140 round 1 and this is the 5th turn of the mud season and the logistics chain still hasn't recovered. This is what it looks like west of Kotlas right now. The supply level is nonexistent at the tip of the spear so I'm pulling all my troops back to better supply areas giving up the terrain I've captured.

It's now T140 round 5 and this is what it looks like south of Krasnodar right now. The effort to clear the coastal road leading SE from the Kerch Straits continues. I'm probably going to have to clear it from the southern direction as well to expedite the process. I thought I'd show you the weather rather than just describe it this time.

It's now T142 round 1 and this is what's going on in the far north right now. I'm fighting over the use of the rail leading to Archangel and repairing it as I capture some more of it. So far Elmer hasn't dedicated a lot of Soviet defenders to the rail line as far as I can see but there may be more Soviet units on the rail that I can't see yet.

It's still T142 round 1 and this is what's going on in the middle right now. I'm pushing the Soviets backward slowly repairing the rail behind me. To be honest with you I'm losing interest in this contest. I'm thinking of quiting right here but if you guys want to see more of this contest let me know.

I haven’t counted the number of D21 AARs you’ve made, but I’m sure it’s more than I can count using both hands. Easy to see why you’re having a flame out. Appreciate what you have contributed to the community. Thank you.

Maybe what you need is a change, something other than D21. There’s quite a few Warsaw Pac vs NATO and WW III scenarios available. Or, you might try a short (20+ turns) scenario of an era/theater you haven’t tried before. Something you can play in under a month.

Thanks from this old man for cheering me up with my favorite (D21) in a great AAR. Trying to get back to the game so your narrative of how & why you fought it is a huge help. You almost had it at Moscow !
