Still early days yet I suppose.
My opponent wanted to play an experienced player :(. Not that I am that experienced but I told him I would give play. I see a great many items that need to be handled, from the German side of things, done differently. Supply is #1 item, #2 is defense setup, #3 resting and staying in controlled hexes for more CCP, #4 HQ's off the front line(causes extra losses if/when retreated), #4 attack order is out of whack a bit, although Turn 11 there was good progress done above Bryansk but was NON-threating because the units involved have no Combat prep, and most are Red for Fuel, and orange/yellow on fatigue. They won't go far next turn. If those units were rested, fueled for a turn with combat prep I would be sweating bullets. but these things come with time in the game & you get that by playing someone that is experienced. Not saying I am experienced though.

In his defense I really did not give him much of anything from Bryansk south to even touch to do damage on since turn 1. But up North the attack makeup is not correct, at least not how I would do it. We all start somewhere & all and all I think he has done pretty decent but need to nail down the extras to put that "UMPH" into the German side. I feel my opponent is on the precipice of the next level of skill.

No idea why the screenshot won't post.

Don't quite understand the Naval Patrols. They appear largely meaningless.

Appears to be a general lack of air recon by the LW. My $.02.

I see the screen shots okay in the original, you probably have lost the references in the reply.

I'm a big advocate for NP in the Baltic to try to preserve your merchant fleet. To control your sea lines of supply you need +2 interdiction levels, achieving this greatly diminishes cargo losses and thus improves supply to AGN. Of course the supply cost and pilot losses need to be weighted against this. Note that NP is a lot less effective when it rains.

The NP's do provide benefit since the port that the Osel rgmt was in still has projection into the adjacent area. As Jason says below that will impact the loss ratio of transports in the area. But I am really not contesting the area at all since Soviet preservation of aircraft and pilots are my key goals in this game. Even in my game with JB I did not contest it. For me it was not worth it.

What JB says here. I believe JB has probably the most experience on this and would be wise advice :)

German is on turn 12. I will try and update a bit today since turn 11 was the most interesting to date. Just realize I have been doing many "unconventional" things in this game. Please don't take them to heart, unless you want to, since I am doing them for some reasons. But I am looking forward to turn 12 Air War to see what comes back :)

Turn 7

Air Losses

Lots of air battles taken place this turn. I do have to say that you have to be "extremely" careful now days with Auto-interception cranked way up in the last patch. I have had to put my planes on "rest" so they will "NOT" fly. This is a huge change from what it was before. If you are not careful you could lose a whole front of aircraft by the cat & mouse routine. Be careful and be cognitive of this.

I am happy with the air results non-the-less.

I seem to be more than fine so far. Not to mention I have hardly any bombers on the map & husbanding my Mech & armor to the back lines.

Turn 7

Air Directives

I got cocky with last turn Air Directives and got decent results. I decide to do similar this turn :). Here they are. (again I am only using Modern fighters and a few IL2's currently)

Kharkov

Reserve drop on Kharkov this turn. Yes, I can use Transports to drop supply on these units when moving into place, BUT I am not. They will get the supplies over the turns since I am not in a hurry ;-P LOL

Turn 7

Here are my Modern Day fighters on the map with supporting IL2's. On the IL2's I really don't care about their experience level. After a few bombing runs they go up in experience rather quickly. What matters is having "good" escorts on those IL2's. If escorting I will escort with a minimum of two groups (Polk) with good experience at a "bare" minimum. If the fighter experience is bad I will increase the amount of groups escorting.
