New grey stone wall graphics

Post by RockinHarry »

Hi there,

I posted this some time ago already, but obviously got lost with the recent hacker attack on the Matrixgames forum. Here it is again, a somewhat modified (grey) stone wall which is now somewhat closer to SPWAW terrain scale. I also added some shadow like effect that IMO enhances looks even more.

If you like it, I´ll take the time and do the same edits on the brown sand stone walls.

The file attachment below shows *txt extension and needs to be renamed as *zip, for known reasons.

Just unzip the files into the SPWAW SHP folder, overwriting the original files. You might want to backup or shift to safe place the original files (Ter42z1.shp to Ter42z4.shp) first!

I also find the bocage tiles pretty much strange looking and they also could be improved by adding the shadow effect. Any interest in this?..if yes, please post some pics showing typical normandy like bocage, for me to use as further reference.

(this all is a private little project and not initially intended to be part of the upcoming shape file update Vol2 by "tracer", but could be included there additionally at a later time too.)

I'd love to see these changes, Harry. Both you and Tracer have greatly improved and enhanced the map graphics. I'm very pleased with your hard work.

Bocage could be improved slightly. There are occasional trees sticking out of the bocage and I have to add those myself. They don't overpower the bocage and should not overshadow it in the graphics. I'll see what I have in the way of pics and send them to you.

Great job, Rockin' Harry! Thank you.

WB

yes, a couple of trees should help enhance the looks too (without adding tree attributes to hex). Looking forward to any possible bocage pix or internet links showing some, prefarably in color![:)]
