AA wont start

Post by riverbravo »

hi guys,

After playing a couple games of AA and then waiting a month or so it seems my game wont start.

When i hit "play HttR" it says "sorry httr must close" then it asks if I want to send an error report.

I went into the matrix folder and started from there and it worked once.

Also I cant hook up at BHQ or via TCP/IP?

Any clues?

riverbravo,

It may be a problem your hard drive is having with the copy protection system. But I'm not sure. We need more info. Can you please produce a DX Diag report - see tm.asp?m=549746 for details on how and then please email it to support[at]panthergames[dot]com. Could you run it again and take a screen shot of the error message and email that to us as well. You can make a screen shot simply by hitting the Print Screen key, then Alt-Tab to your favourite paint program ( PC Paint will do ) and then pasting it and save it as a JPEG.

Here is the error he got...

Appname:HttR.exe
modname:` df394b.tmp

I tried to get him to find his windows folder to empty the temp folder but we were unsuccessful at getting it to show up. Tried to go with show hidden folders and show operating system files/folders but still nothing. Best we could find was a windows nt folder but he says he is on win xp....

Somebody mentioned to me once that you guys were on the ball.....[;)]

E-mail is sent with DX diag!!

Well it would appear today that we're not on the ball enough. It appears I forgot to renew our domain name registration, which comes due every five years - the renewal notice going to an old address ( I know I should have updated it ). So your email will bounce, I'm afraid. Please forward instead to this temp account "panther[at]actewagl[dot]net[dot]au"

I'm very sorry for the hassle.

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling.

If it was working and now isnt, maybe something has become corrupted in the mean time.

I was trying to play with him when all this mess happened. He has reinstalled the game and no go.

HTTR is a great game if you are into realistic strategy. After playing it several times I can not get it to load now. I keep getting the message to, 'remove CD from drive, reinsert and start game.' I just keep receiveing the same message. I've even uninstalled and installed again - but still have the same problem! Is there a solution?
