trying to understand why Odessa being isolated still receives supply

Post by ewald »

Hello, have been playing this great game for over a year now. Playing the campaign vs AI as axis.

What I now noticed was that when cutting off Odessa from the sea and having naval interdiction (for already quite some turns), I noticed (turning fog of war off) that previous turn Odessa had 9883 freight stored .'
After progressing to the next turn, I checked again and saw Odessa had:21404. I have 3 to 1 interdiction around the port and Odessa received nothing.

This appears strange to me. Anyone have an idea ?

Are you flying NP in both friendly and enemy phases?

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked it and indeed both in enemy and friendly phase.

If you have auto saves, you can email them to 2by3@2by3games.com and I can take a look. I need saves from a full turn (both sides), and ideally the pre-logistics saves as well as the start of turn saves (there's preference item to turn on the pre-log saves. With the 4 saves created during a full turn, I can check to see what your interdiction values are and what freight is coming into the port, if any.

I've replied to your email. Looks like from the saves you sent for turn 14, in turn 14 the interdiction was not enough 2 German vs 1 Soviet in some hexes, so Odessa was not cut off.

Slight hint here. Don't just attack the one hex at range 1.

Attack that hex at range zero and execute the exact same mission one hex to the southwest.

Normally you also should insure at least 150-200 aircraft armed with LMA mines hit the targets preferably with fighter escort.

Lastly verify the flight paths don't take you over the city in order to avoid flak. Alter the paths as needed.
