Yes, thank you for supporting your game for so long.

There may be a conflict.

The time you spend fixing bugs or even adding stuff to the "old game" probably will not bring more customers.

And so it is a time lost for developing the "new game", that will bring more money.

I think it is an error in the long term, but just my opinion and from a non-developer :)

True but it also depends.

Now I am doing updates after X number of bugs which usually hits every few months. So 1 day of say 150 days or work isn't unreasonable for an old game.

Yes of course, if there are few bugs and is easy for you to fix them, you are adding trust to your players, and so that is commendable in the long term.

There are examples for both cases.

John Tiller games are at one extreme of the spectrum, supported in different companies, HPS, JTS and now WDS even after John Tiller death and decades after release. It is just crazy.

On the other side I would cite my beloved Ageod games.

The developers depended on volunteers to support their games after release, because the team was small and they needed the time to create the next game.

And a volunteer that knows the system and is able to give that kind of support, is of course, difficult to find.

Sometimes not until a certain point in time.
