Railyard 1 vs Railyard 2?

Post by Dereck »

I understand that Railyard 1s are what are created when a depot is created where a railyard doesn't already exists.

I'm confused about "Railyard 2". Are they special railyards or simply railyards with a yard capacity of 2 and greater? If they are special railyards how do I identify them or is there a list somewhere?

Thanks

There's a section in the manual on railyards and supply movement but essentially only railyards lvl 2 and above contribute "capacity" to move supply across your rails so its important you connect them all (assuming you're axis advancing into the motherland). You can press "F2" to see the railyard level of all your currently owned hexes but you can't see the enemies (you'll eventually get the hang of where they're all located though).

Thank you. And I can use my Soviet Intelligence Department (aka the editor) to go in and locate all rail yards with capacity of 2 or more and make a list. Even the Soviets of 1941 would have had that information even if their Quartermaster General supplied the Red Army with water pistols.

There is a graphics mod that is making railyards above level 1 more visible on the map:

Hey shipmate, here's a link to a railyard map that someone in the forum created quite a while ago and I downloaded. Kudos to them: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/9k34s87x ... 0abg4&dl=0

You know, we probably crossed paths in either Yokosuka or Atsugi. I was on the Blueridge from '80-'82 and with VQ-1 Det Atsugi from '82-'84. Small world!

I got in the editor and made a list of Axis and Soviet railyards >= 2.

And we very well could have crossed paths for the very brief times the Midway as in port. Though we did spend a few months in drydock but my memory forgets what year it was.
