1328.8 - Water Issue on new Sentinel-2 Layer

Post by Revan227 »

Please see my attached screenshot.

it seems the new water/terrain masking on Sentinel-2 is causing major issues on my machine with large swathes of land area being masked out as transparent green water.
(pictured, the San Francisco bay area and NorCal Valley)

Is it possible to turn this new map off or roll back to the previous version of CMO?

This is the satellite view from Google Maps. As you can see, the inner waters have the greenish tint to them.

This is what I see in Stamen 2 + Bathymetry layer. This allows the bathymetric layer to mask through.

That view gives a better approximation of what is navigable. The pic screws up the blue and green colors, but its easy to try yourself. I have found the base earth and BMNG layers to be very fuzzy in those areas very shallow areas. The Bathymetry layer was built to allow better definition around those areas. It gives a better representation on what the game sees for navigable water. IIRC, the dark green means non-navigable water.

I believe this is the same issue that I had here:

I echo the request to be able to turn off the water mask.
The boogabooga doctrine for CMO: Any intentional human intervention needs to be able to completely and reliably over-ride anything that the AI is doing at any time.
